If its so simple it would have a formula that works every time. Instead we got 5 different Alien movies all with their own styles and directions and the first 2 are the only ones that actually work.

Alien and Aliens are good because they have interesting settings, good characters, and they knew how/when to use the aliens. Alien 3 couldve been good too because the setting was interesting but the characters were boring and the use of the CGI alien was not effective at all.
