Is this kino?

I cried when he watched the montage.
>>79935970
I was bored but I only watched the long version. Maybe the shorter version is better.
>>79935970
Cinéma at best. However, it is PRIME datenightciné
>>79935970
if you love movies, it's top shelf
if you're here for memes and stupid shit
you don't deserve to have it in your world
anything else?
>>79935970
Top 10 for sure.

If this movie doesn't make you feel I don't know what does. It's ok to cry bruh.
>>79937172
I only asked because it's my mom's favorite film
She made me watch it when I was a kid but I remember little of it
>>79937177
>If this movie doesn't make you feel I don't know what does. It's ok to cry bruh.
I felt no emotion. It's pure normalfagcore, like the equally boring Lost in Translation. If you really want a movie to make you cry, watch The Plague Dogs instead. And I am not biased against Italian movies - I liked Life is Beautiful.
>>79937254
it's a very important movie, but only for people that love movies
if you just watch movies to find things that you think are missing, or always look with a critical eye
then this movie isn't for you
schmaltzy bullshit
one of the corniest movies ever made
>>79937097
It is much better. The shorter version cuts out all the boring infidelity stuff and maintains all the youthful wonder of the cinema. It also preserves your faith in Alfredo instead of making him seem like an asshole.

children should be seen and not heard

>bashes cinema parakino
>likes le quirky holocaust movie and marley and me pixar
really negates the nuts
>>79937474
Marley and Me is boring.
Pixar is mostly shit.

i'm older than you
I saw this movie in my mid 20s
It's italian forrest gump
>>79935970
should I watch this now? Im a bit sleepy so I cant really do slow or visually uninteresting movies right now
I went to see it at a film festival kind of thing and when we came out, the cinema across the street where Gone With the Wind had it's first pre-release screening was engulfed in flames. One of the most amazing kino coincidences of my short life.

>i'm older than you
no, you're not, i'm 58
>I saw this movie in my mid 20s
i saw it in my 40's..when i was able to fully appreciate it because i had seen thousands of movies to relate it to
>It's italian forrest gump
does that make a simple enough argument that you can understand it?
you don't even understand this scene

More content doesn't necessarily make for a better film. The whole third act in the director's cut felt as though it belonged in a different movie. Cinema Paradiso is about that childhood joy you get from the movies and how it shaped one young man's journey. Taking a long turn from that to focus on a romantic affair just feels out of place and doesn't match the mood of the first two thirds.

I never cry at movies, but this is one of the closest times I've come to doing so.
Is this the hipster thread?
Can I discuss my Ingmar Bergman and Emir Kusturica superior taste here?
Oh yeah, and I forgot Federico Fellini as well

i'm 58.5
