He did a good job in creating a whole new side to the Star Wars universe. If he had just stuck to writing and gotten a director who actually knows how to develop interesting characters and give actors good guidance (Christiansen is a good actor but you can tell he was getting zero direction for most of the prequels) as well as not depending on CGI for every little fucking thing, the prequels would be amazing.

I still think all six movies should get remakes by a good director. They're all terribly flawed. But of course fanboys will throw a fit even though it was always the writing and design that made SW good and not the direction/acting.
