Most of what he wrote is mostly false or inaccurate. The Empire does not exist anymore if you follow Bloodline. Most of the territory fell into the fold with the New Republic and the other remnants left to the unknown regions to form the First Order. Starkiller was an Imperial Project the First Order completed and the Sith as an organization do not exist anymore. Treating Leia as a warmonger comes from being revealed as Vader's daughter destroying all her credibility. The New Republic never takes the First Order serious because they have zero funding, a tiny fleet and no territory. Of course, they were very busy in those 30 years.

FTL travel as we know it is relatively new in Star Wars and before that they used colony ships and beacons that never came close to going ".5" past light speed. In current canon, it took about a thousand years just to map the Outer Rim and even then much of it is not under control of the Republic or Empire. It's too big.
