I liked it.

The last piece Ryan Gosling plays on the piano in his club was excellent.

Great cinematography, use of color and transitions doesn't make up for drab songs and mundane choreography. Those sort of things are y'know kinda paramount in making a good musical.

The opening song and dance on the highway was top shit amateur hour and pretty pretentious in a way the young director was force feeding the viewers that this movie was something special instead of just being spectacular and capturing the viewer with great song, clever choreography and funny interpolated comedy. Even Goose couldn't save this mess, but shined as always when he was on screen.
