It's a bit cheesy near the beginning, and the camera quality isn't very good. The dinner scene was pretty good though

Pure kino. If you didn't love this movie to death, what are you even doing on /tv/?
Best ending in film history.

Why is it so good?
Watched this today! Starts a little slow but when it gets going it gets going. Better than slasher movies nowadays and it's an old indie movie. Watch it
Has that "raw" feeling namsayin'?

You know what this film does really well is creating a genuine sense of horror with the absolute minimal amount of gore. It's a definite classic of the genre.

Probably even more than that, Gunnar portrayed him as if he was severely mentally retarded.

I still find the dinner table scene disturbing every time I watch it, and there's honestly not much going on there, aside from some chick freaking out, and a bunch of dudes mocking her. I wrote a whole paper about that scene in college, and all the filmmaking tricks they use to really sell what could have been really hokey in less talented hands.

It's lensflare done right for once, especially in contrast to the rest of the film.
