Will Green Room still shock me even if i just watched this?

I watched it along with someone that' absolutely hated it. She thought the plot was confusing(?) and said it was too violent.

I loved it, it's sticking with me. I've done some shows in some really seedy venues and the set design was real enough (and I've been in some strange, sketchy situations myself) that it seemed very possible but still remaining fantastic. Does that make sense?

I'm really looking forward to Saulnier's next movie. This and Blue Ruin are fantastic. Such an impactful use of violence is refreshing in an industry overrun with pg13 capeshit.

I have the same feelings, the arm scene really got me scared, it truly showed how shit hit the fan and really upped the stakes for everyone.

Its probably my favorite movie of that year. I look forward to more of Saulnier's work.

Dunno about anyone else, but I thought the sound mixing wasn't great in some scenes. There was a good bit of dialogue I couldn't understand when I first saw it in theaters, even from Patrick Stewart who speaks pretty clearly. I missed a few details on first viewing, like how Darcy has Wyrm killed, the significance of the baseball bat in that one guy's trunk, a few other things.

A few weeks ago I streamed it with captions and understood it all much better.
