Hey somebody that knows film better than I do- there's a name for this and I don't know what it is or how to look it up.
It's when the whole plot hinges on two characters misunderstanding each other in a way where if they'd just actually sat down and talked about the situation for like ONE second would have been completely averted. Like any rational person would do in real life.
You see it a lot in old sitcoms and it's a really lazy writing move. What is this term called?
