So how come /tv/ praises Fire Walk With Me so much? I really enjoyed the first act with the two agents doing detective work and the David Bowie thing was just Lynch doing his thing but my issue is with the rest of the film focusing entirely on everything we already knew about Laura. I feel like it was pointless and went against the whole mystery and ambiguity of the show. We didn't need to be shown any of it because it was already more than implied, you already had every scene as a picture in your head thanks to the show, it did nothing new or interesting in that regard, it was too much needless exposition.

I think it was the pure psychological and psychoanalytical exploration of Laura Palmer's end.
We weren't there in the show, the events were only referred to and especially, we were never shown what Laura was to the town and why the loss was so massive.
Even the experience of what BOB was and the shock of you know what showed that she wasn't aware for most of it herself.
It's interesting, it's like a a huge footnote with some of the lore expanded on.
