The original actors went through puberty, and since Dog Days made so much money, they just went with the inevitable decision to continue the movie series with new actors.

Here's hoping they get the original actors to make a cameo in "The Long Haul"

I understand why they recast everyone but I don't understand why they skipped a whole bunch of books. If it was doing so well wouldn't they maximize the profits gained by going one by one?

Too much time passed, and I think the most logical decision was is that the books don't have a long arc if pieced together, that and the books in-between Dog Days and Long Haul didn't have enough interesting material to make a movie.

Besides, Kinney supervised the production of this movie, if he wanted to continue where they left off with an "The Ugly Truth" movie, we would've gotten that instead of "The Long Haul"

Were Double Down and the Dog Days movie really that good? I feel like the last book I read was The Ugly Truth, but Cabin Fever and The Third Wheel seem very familiar.

The second movie wasn't as good as the first, but I saw it in theaters and enjoyed it. I remember talking to my friend about how fat the mom's tits were.
