Weird question.

On "The Middle" and countless other shows and movies, when a male character is seen in boxer shorts for more than a few seconds, they almost never EVER have any of their dicks outlined or poking out. Not, like, erections or whatever, but boxer shorts are made of fabric that just kind of leave little to the imagination.

Do they strap the dick down or wear a smaller, tighter pair of briefs or something under the boxers? Do they cut the actor's dick off when they sign on to a role that involves boxer shorts?
