The 3rd Human Condition film was soul crushing. That movie gave me the most feels ever, Kaji went through so much shit... Trust me, it's worth watching all 9 hours. The first movie is a bit slow for a first time watcher, but it really escalates at the end. I rewatched the whole thing recently and it still holds up as undisputed kino.
