Did you? This was by far the most sympathetic version of Lady Macbeth I've ever seen, and gave Macbeth way more culpability than most adaptations do.

It was a one film for the artists one film for the studio sort of deal.

Macbeth was the film the cast and crew actually wanted to make and it shows. Ass Creed was the one they had to make as penance for being giving the money for their Macbeth rendition.
