Rewatched it recently.
Everything having to do with the apartment family was fucking shit, and there was a fart joke, but that's it.
95% of the movie was average to good, and the stuff with the flashbacks was done well.

Also, the warden being the descendant of the land-owner and not the teacher was genuinely surprising.
I had missed it as a kid, and it was really fun to realize.
