I liked to sequel to an extent. What I appreciate about the former is the fact that it's self-contained and can be a standalone film if you want it to be.

The military going completely out of their way to hunt all of them down for absolutely no reason is pretty fucking stupid.

The opening of 28 Weeks Later was the best scene in both movies, but 28 Days Later has some fucking vividly memorable scenes that are oozing atmosphere out the ass.

One of the best movies of the 00s. Certainly one of the best "zombie" movies.
