Yeah I wouldn't argue it's a masterpiece or anything but it really spoke to me personally, though I do think Roger Avary deserves more credit for some of the more unique things he did with tone in this and weird techniques like the split screen stuff and the European holiday montage

don't be a cuck, and prefers the book instead of this flick.
