i'll do one better
tell me why it it wont
Only if the films producers give us a comprehensive answer on Seb's business plan and financials
>>79616837
it a dishonest movie so yep, itll forsure win
>>79616876
too white, there will be sjw drama if it wins
>>79616837
It deserves to.
>>79616876
The only way I could see it losing is because of #OscarssoWhite.
Maybe if trumpo didn't win
>>79616939
>#OscarssoWhite
What did he mean by this?
>>79616984
>b8ing this hard
there is no need for this anon
>>79617009
What?
>>79616984
A hashtag started by people that think more nonwhites need to win awards even if the films themselves don't warrant it.
>>79617024
huh. When did it start?
>>79617024
Yes, that would be stupid presuming the films don't warrant it. This year, Moonlight is 10x the movie that La La Land is (though I'd give picture to all-white Manchester by the Sea). Unfortunately, decent La La Land is going to win something crazy like 10 Oscars because it is a blowjob to Hollywood.
>>79617251
Last year.
>>79617272
Moonlight and Fences were great. Hidden Figures and Lion felt like forced diversity pics.
>>79617349
>Last year.
So like. What did they want to win?
>>79617349
I haven't seen Hidden Figures, but it looks like such a cliched piece of shit, The Help: In Space!
>>79617418
I think last year they were pissed because 20/20 acting nominees were white, and no black movies made it into best picture. The only ones (that I remember) that stood a chance were Creed and Straight Outta Compton. Both are pretty decent flicks, but give me a fucking break to think it's some outrage that either of them weren't considered best of the year.
Manchester by the sea was good
>>79616837
Is 20th century women nominated? I liked that more than Manchester by the sea, but they're both pretty weak.
>>79616837
I want it to.
Just to see Olivia Hamilton kissing Damien and get jealous ;-;
>>79617505
No, it only got nominated for original screenplay. I want to see it due to my crush on Greta Gerwig.
>>79616837
Yes, but Moonlight should win it.
>>79617450
>Creed and Straight Outta Compton
hmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm. Creed was OK I guess. SOC felt insincere as fuck, I really fucking hated it. Beasts of No Nation would have been a good shout though.
>>79617349
Lion was the definition of pandering. No risk, the kind of movie Mums and Grandmas will cry at the end of
It is, and I'm going to be butthurt because it was so fucking mediocre.
>>79617550
Her character was pretty annoying, maybe you'll get rid of your crush.
Black Space Math will win
>>79616837
Dishonest movies don't win awards.
>>79617755
kys
>>79617600
Oh yeah, forgot about Beasts. That was definitely the best black movie of 2015.
>>79617696
Ha, I doubt it. Her characters are usually fairly annoying, and I still have a thing for her.
>>79619229
>Oh yeah, forgot about Beasts. That was definitely the best black movie of 2015.
Looked it up and apparently it wasn't like eligible, didn't open in enough theaters or whatever.
>>79619811
Pretty sure it was eligible. Netflix had it play theatrically just so it qualified. I follow the Oscar shit pretty closely and everyone was shocked Idris Elba didn't get nominated (he won the SAG award).
I hope so because this movie absolutely deserves it. The cinematography was stunning. I saw it in theaters 4 times!
I really want La La Land to win, but I don't mind it losing to Moonlight or Manchester by Sea desu.
>>79619909
True. Good post
Moonlight > Manchester By The Sea > La La Land > Arrival > Fences > Hacksaw Ridge > Hell Or High Water > Lion > Hidden Figures
>>79621989
Id change fences with boreival but the rest seems good
Maybe, probably, yeah, but Arrival or Manchester deserve to win
Yes, of course.
>>79617272
Exactly how Moonlight is a good picture? All I saw was: Black kid/teenager/man gets to know he's gay. The End.
