Should laugh tracks be kept in the past where they belong (cough Big bang theory cough) or should we embrace them?

I'd prefer if they no longer existed but if a show is funny enough it can overcome the laugh track. The IT Crowd is an example.
Laugh tracks are cancer that ruin shows and comedic timing/flow.

only unfunny shows have a laugh track to give it a boost
if your show needs a laugh track its fucking awful.
How the fuck else would I know that the funny happened?
Idiot
They've always been shit. Watching an old show pisses me off, especially Red Dwarf which is funny without the lame laughtrack needed.
What about live studio audience, ALA Lucky Louie?

if its a live performance its cool
its the same as a comedy special
Laugh Tracks/Live Studio Audiences (except for talk shows) are just stupid. It's a very American thing, like the big studios have no faith in their people. "How will they know its funny if they don't hear anyone else laugh?".
I thought we were passed that shit when Friends and Seinfeld ended, and shows like Malcom in the Middle and Scrubs were popular. I thought the populace was maturing in their sitcoms along with myself. Then came 2 and a half men. I was wrong.

To be fair though, most shows do still have indications of when to laugh, even without laugh tracks. Like the show will have its light, humorous theme play after a short pause when the punchline hits
Or if he humor is less deadpan then the actors themselves will be laughing
The laugh track is just the one that feels the corniest and patronizing
