Is Watchmen the only capeshit movie with depth?

V For Vendetta was good too.

Mystery Men has depth but hardly anyone talks about it, sure it is a comedy on the surface but we can all relate to the main character.
The movie touches on many subjects, such as what it means to be a man, to be strong, friendship, manufactured idols for the masses, believing in yourself, sacrifice and many more.
Everyone in that movie is a "loser" in the cape community, think about that shit for a second, even if you have superpowers you can be a "loser" !?!? WHAT!?!? Right there the movie is telling you that labels are just that, and there is no "elite" class, we are all superheroes in our own way. Such a great movie.
,
Well being that it was a direct adaption of a single comic story it's possible

The book, yeah. The movie was nothing more than middle-schoolkino

>dudebros actually believe this
LEGO Batman? That was deeper than most capeshit, no?

You can argue whether or not it was a good movie or not but I really applaud Man of Steel (and to a lesser extent, Batman v Superman) for reaching for something greater. The idea of 1) Does incorruptible good exist? and 2) if it did, is it so fundamentally opposed to human nature that we wouldn't accept it? These are really big themes for any film to tackle, let alone a Superman one.
I don't think it's a flawless film by any means but I'll always have a lot of respect for Zack Snyder for trying something other than just a generic "hero's journey" story.

Yeah, Guy Fawkes mask was really co-opted by the fedora/ Reddit crowd but I still think it's a decent film/ comic.

It sucks. V for Vendetta is a pretty good movie but the ending is completely ruined by how laughable the Guy Fawkes mask is now.
