Yes, Whedon over them. Don't buy into the memes, despite his dramatic twitter posts he's a talented, if uneven filmmaker. At least moreso than vastly overrated The Russo bros.
>>
>>79566044
I'll give you that the first avengers was pretty good all things considered, but both movies the russo's put outclass avengers 2 by a shitload. Avengers 1 doesn't make up for the garbage that was avengers 2.
>>
>>79566159
The story didnt amount to much in 2, but I still give the edge to Whedon for his action direction, which feels like comic book splash pages, as opposed to the Russos spastic, jarring editing.

Better question: why has every Iron man suit been shit since iron man 2?

In the original iron man film, It was a relatively slow moving, but powerful armor that took a direct hit from a tank and kept going.

In iron man 3, a suit gets crushed by a truck
In Civil war, a suit gets beat up by a man with a shield.

Because RDJ, just like Ben Affleck, is different than the rest of cucks just grateful to get regular job and a steady income. He wants to have a career and the only reason people like Marvel is him, so Disney has to pay him whatever he asks.

They pay him like 70 millions upfront and then a cut of whatever the movie grosses despite not being a producer. You heard that right, to the best of my knoweldge, RDJ is still not a producer in these movies, not even executive. Pretty uncommon for a long running franchis. He just doesn't give a fuck, gets paid and gets out

this is a plot point of iron man 3 anon, you even referenced it getting hit by a truck

tony switches to a more modular/light-weight and compact design where he can summon it from anywhere, without needing his former hueg industrial robot arm machine to put it on for him

the tradeoff is that it has negative DEF stats over SPD. even the wrist rocket he has in civil war was smaller than the bigger one he used to destroy the tank in iron man 1

Do people genuinely like hearing any of these characters quip? Civil War is the first comic movie I've watched since 2013. The nonstop quips really stood out. They felt formulaic. Or would inorganic be a better word? ScarJo is especially awful at the quips. It felt like everyone but Captain America was trying to sound like Iron Man.

>>79572331
marvel has a tried and true formula that seems to be working. You're probably in a minority where as the majority of their target audience laps this shit up. When I saw dr strange at the theater, the scene right after when the ancient one dies and strange is popping his collar and then fighting with it, it was so out of place and stupid, but all the retards in the theater laughed and ate it up.
>>
>>79572505
The people who think that Marvel is good at making movies are the same people who think that JK Rowling is a great author. The only way they can quantify why they think this is to point to all the money it makes and how high the Tomatometer score goes. Marvel knows how to please the lowest common denominator which is why their movies are so successful, but when judged by their own merits they're crap.

They're movies about superheroes. What the hell do you expect?
>>
>>79573203
Well yeah. They didn't really have much of a movie with Battle of Five Armies and they just padded it up with action scenes.

In the book, the Goblins are the first act climax, Smaug is the second-act climax and the battle is the third act climax. And yet because each of the movies is three hours long they ended up bungling the pacing pretty terribly, with minor action scenes becoming major action scenes, and major action scenes becoming opening action scenes. The second movie should have ended with Smaug being defeated but then they wouldn't have had enough material to fill the third movie with.

And mind you, I am not even someone who hates the Hobbit trilogy. I actually can watch them and enjoy myself, but it is a vastly inferior trilogy to Lord of the Rings. Lord of the Rings I consider to be essential viewing for anyone who likes movies, whereas The Hobbit is like taking the leftovers from a good steak and putting them in the microwave. You may get some enjoyment out of it, but many parts will be cold or chewy, and overall it's not nearly as good as the first time around.

I'll have to check out the fan edits sometime. I feel like there's at least one good complete movie buried somewhere in that movie, and a bunch of extra crap that just makes it longer. Hopefully after Hunger Games Mocking Jay we are finally done with this awful trend of taking movies, splitting them up into multiple parts and padding them up with filler just to get more box office revenue.

If studios did not have Harry Potty to milk they would've milked something else. I have 0 idea why Narnia only got 1 successful movie. JK Rowling is a fucking retard next to Lewis and Jacques prove me wrong. Even Stine deserves more credit getting kids into reading than that subhuman.
