Because it's good movie. People love good movies and when they like movie they talk good things about this movie. I hope you understand that

It's South Korean
>>79555937
Fedoras love Korean fillers.
If you want to watch something actually good, try Kim Ki-duk or Lee Chang-dong.

It's a (bad) meme.
>>79555937
I was wondering that too, to be honest. My guess is that people highly praise it for it's continues change between drama and goofy comedy.

>Lee Chang-dong.
i'm gonna check out peppermint candy and Pietà -thanks

>But why is it so highly regarded?
Because it has a great plot, is actually based on real events and people, and has a great soundtrack, pacing and structure.
Also, the ending of the protagonist looking straight at the camera at the real, uncaught killer who is watching the movie is ingenious.

it was me all along.

It's a great movie. It's that simple. You should watch The Yellow Sea next.

>Lee Chang-dong
I saw some parts of the Bow once. It was on TV and I only started watching it after it had started.
Are all his others films like it? Can't say I liked it.

I liked it, it had some really good scenes with tension.
>that quarry scene with the swelling music and sweeping camera motions
Best scene imo

Maybe I need to watch it again but The Yellow Sea was kinda forgettable. I liked the other two, especially Bedevilled.
Now that you've watched Memories of Murder, immediately go watch The Attorney.
>>79558286
I loved the first half but The Yellow Sea is too defragmented and over the top. I feel like after The Chaser he wanted to put too much stuff in it.
