What the fuck. Did i just watch a yakuza slice of life movie?
>>79551139
Yes
>>79551139
If you enjoyed that, go watch 'The Triad Zone' for a Triad Slice of Life dark comedy
>>79551139
To this day I've only seen this on a Miramax screener that fades in and out of black and white and has text scrolling across the screen.
>>79551139
Now go watch Hana-bi
>>79551983
Yep, do this OP.
>>79551139
comfy :)
>>79552351
Kikojiro is the comfiest though.
>>79551983
Can you link the imdb?
>>79552505
what the fuck is wrong with you?
>>79552645
Is it really so difficult to post a link? I'm not a weaboo, so I'm not used to searching Asian titles and then discerning which fucking one you mean. I've found it by now, but it's not listed as Hana-bi. Could've just said "Fireworks".
>>79552732
how difficult is it to type hanabi imdb and choose the first one you fucking kike. hell of a lot quicker than waiting for some cunt to go and link it you dipshit
>>79552732
that was really hard mate
>>79552351
>“not being afraid of killing people means not being afraid of killing yourself, right?”
Despite this line that scene is still comfy. This movie is amazing
>Sonatine
>Brother
>Hana-bi
>Kikujiro
>Zatoichi
>>79553226
>no Kids Return
>no Boiling Point
>great still camera work
>interesting "static" action
>moments of genuine happiness/fun in somewhat sad films
>endlessly humanized characters
Sonataine and Hana-Bi are incredible films
His shit is, as much as I hate the term, comfy. It has themes of Yakuza life but it's never sinister.
>>79553308
I'm endlessly fascinated by how they're more or less the same movie but so different at the same time
>>79553304
Haven't watched Kids Return
Boiling Point is excellent, I don't know how I forgot it
>>79553308
That's really nice quality anon. Is it a rip from last year's blu ray?
I got excited an pre-ordered one only to find out it was region locked.
Sadly I am a tard and I dont torrent.
I'd love to have Fireworks and Sonatine, they're two of my favorite films
the ending of Sonatine with the absolutely based Hisaishi score and Kitano killing everybody is absolutely the definition of kino
>>79553387
why dont you torrent dipshit
>>79553308
>>79553387
The most confusing part about those two movies is that I can't watch them with someone else.
Hana-Bi is probably what I would call my "favorite" movie, but I stil can't stand the thought of watching it with someone. Is it autism?
>>79553411
I don't know what I'm doing when it comes to anything torrent related
>>79553433
Eh idk. Some stuff I like showing to/watching with others but then other stuff I don't bother with.
I know it'll be too "different" for them.
>>79553498
>I don't know what I'm doing when it comes to anything torrent related
What the fuck is wrong with you, torrenting is almost as basic as fucking browsing. Fucking filling out captchas to post is harder than torrenting.
Are you a fucking phone poster with no computer or something?
>>79552351
2cute
>>79553527
Yes
>>79553573
Netflix's subtitles translated that to "indecent exposure is fun!"
>>79553611
>watching shit on jewflix
>>79553611
>>79553640
I saw this, was anything else changed?
>>79553652
>>79553611
It's just the translation between the old dvd and the new one, stuff like that is always being updated
Kitano's movies feel very narcissistic to be honest, he's always the toughest man on the block wrecking his opposition freely no matter their number. And that doesn't jive well with the way he shoots action (or rather doesn't shoot). I still like his movies and find them unique, but that particular thing doesn't sit well with me.
>>79553850
I'm not really sure how you can see that, at the very least because his characters always seem to get killed in the end. But overall, his yakuza characters are deeply unhappy and it becomes more prominent in his films as they go on throughout the 90s. Sonatine in particular is viciously critical about the reality of yakuza life, how shallow and fleeting it all is. On the exterior they're tough guys, but internally his characters are all broken men
>>79551139
I didn't understand anything in this movie. The people and their actions were incomprehensible.
>>79554202
Welcome to Asian cinema. You get used to it after a while.
Did I guess correctly, are you new to it? Because that's how I felt when I saw my first few Asian films that weren't Jackie Chan.
>>79553308
confirmed for good opinion!
>>79553498
I usually try to not offend anyone, not in real life and not on the net. But you deserve plenty insults for being indolent and whining.
>>79553308
I haven't seen the film but that webm really cracks me up.
>>79553850
Yeah...
