Because the general is terrible for creativity and for raising interesting discussion. I used to be hype as heck for the upcoming seasons when the threads started coming but this shitty eternal general had made me less and less hyped each season by making GoT threads so dull and shit.

It's like occasional GoT threads are a fine steak you eat somewhat rarely but enjoy them even more because of that. And this general is a big lump of tasteless meat you can eat for free and as much as you like. And eating the fine steak is discouraged thanks to the lump of meat available at any time for anyone, and it just makes the average quality of food a lot worse.

Much like baneposting or any other meme of the season, seeing it occasionally makes it a bit fun, seeing it too frequently makes it annoying, seeing a 24/7 general of it makes it completely bland and uninteresting.

But Arya used a wooden stick and trained against a reasonable person, so it was extremely unlikely she would get anything more than bruises.

If Bran was climbing a ladder or a 3 meters tall tree, now this would've been the equivalent of Arya training at swordplay with wooden sticks.

Arya training with wooden sticks = 0.0000000000001% chance of dying/being crippled. Syrio will not fucking stab her in the throat with full strength or some shit like that.

All mormont women fight, Lyanna fought and no one cared, Arya wanted to fight and Ned didn't care even encouraged it, some of the northern clans fight ( flint norrey etc ), and most wildlings women fight as well (ok wildlings aren't the same as northerners, but it's kinda of a pattern, the more you go north, the more women fight).

Women fighting is a thing when it's a necessity really... The Mormont aren't enough to just have the men fighting. The northern clans are very small, so just a few women fight can increase the clans strenght but a reasonable amount.

In the south, it's different. When you have a standing army of 50k supported by 300k army across westeros and you're behind massive walls, yuo don't really need women fighting as well.
