Why do the entire X-Men have to take a back seat to wolverine? You tellin' me not ONE mutant would also be there for him? He's in that serious grave conditions? It's implausible to think shit would get hat fucked up. They're the X-Men but no Hugh has to have this big grand solo send-off that doesn't make sense in the grand scheme of things.

Anyway, I lost count as to how many freaking Wolverine movies there are, and not just the solo Wolverine movies. It's highly unlikely they are using that plot point for this movie, apart from Logan being "old" it bears little similarity to Old Man Logan plus in the comics it was Mysterio that tricked him into doing that and that ain't going to happen though there is a character called Mastermind who would be an even more X-universe related
