Yes. We would have gotten Joker being broken out of prison and then Batman will have to decide to save some people or stop Bane as Joker sets up traps around the city.

No. Nolan made it clear in the documentary that he didn't have any sequel in mind when he made Batman Begins and he assumed it would probably be just a 1 off.

But then he did of course put the Joker card at the end of BB so perhaps he did want to make a Joker sequel but had no idea the plot.

Same goes for Dark Knight Rises. He ended TDK with killing off Harvey Dent because he had no plans for a sequel but then when the sequel came around, he decided to use Harvey as a plot point with Bane and others constantly mentioning him.

It was a pretty bald move for Nolan to kill off Two Face after him only getting like 15 minutes of screen time but his character truly did serve a point and if he was in TDKR, he wouldn't have added anything just like Han Solo added nothing in Return of the Jedi.

I always have a problem with movies turning characters over the span of 2 hours or like a week in movie time...if harvey dent had been in Begins and didn't turn until the end of TDK and maybe not until TDKR it would have been epic

Yeah. They're not perfect, but they're pretty good. They still had some stupid Nolanisms (no moar ded cawps) but that sort of shit wasn't cranked up to 11 like it was in later films.

Nolan didn't really become a complete hack until Inception. But from Inception onward, everything just became trite garbage. I guess it all went to his head, or something.

But yeah, casting Maggie was a fucking mistake. Especially when the purpose of her character in TDK is to serve as a sacrifice so devastating that it turns Gotham's Golden Boy into a psycho killer. Falls kinda flat when she looks as dumpy as she does.
