this was unlike anything I'd ever seen before back in the late 90s.

now that "cringe porn" is an established genre, I feel more confident saying I hate this movie. I give it no points for being ahead of its time.

intentionally miserable movies are just as shitty as lazy "uplifting movies" are. the goal should instead be to evoke positive feelings from the audience in original and inventive ways.
