They stopped sucking obongo cock and actually started to do what they are supposed to do, making fun of the guys running the country.

Well, he'll also be remembered for pulling off the biggest political upset in modern history. Children 20 years from now will study in school how Hillary Clinton and the democrats were able to lose this election.
>>
>>79462235
You don't need SNL to make this funny.

If somebody simply edited together footage of the 2016 campaign, they would have comedy gold. All you need is uncut footage of Trump, Jeb, Clinton, Kasich, Carson, Johnson and the others at their worst and it would be fucking hilarious.

He didn't just criticize the judges, he's criticized the whole court *system*. There's a major difference.

One of his aides said "the power of the Presidency is not to be questioned" despite the fact that our government is built on checks and balances. Nobody is above the Constitution, not even the President.
>>
>>79463459
there's criticism, and then there's unwarranted questioning of the qualifications of the judge just because you didn't like their decision. It's not even the first time Trump had whined about a judge not being qualified to judge a case involving him. Remember when he said a judge ought to recuse himself from a lawsuit against him because the judge was a latino?
>>

SNL is clearly liberal, there's no denying that. That said Trump is easily more comedic than Obama. The way he talks and acts is basically asking for parody.

Also the things they could have called Obama out on aren't really easy to turn into jokes. Stuff like increasing government surveillance or the execution of a US citizen without trial because he was an "enemy combatant" aren't really "funny" you know? Being orange and angry on the other hand is pretty funny.
>>
>>79463521
Overstepping their authority is not what they're there to do, Trump's EO was clearly legitimate and would have been upheld everywhere outside of the radically leftist 9th circuit

>>
>>79463579
Honestly Trump just has a huge PR problem. Being super right wing helped him win the election but it's hurting him now.

If he came out and said "We're putting a temporary ban in place so we can review the immigration process and make sure things are being done safely" people would be upset but not like this.

They're not looking at just the order, they're looking at it in the light of his statements during his campaign about banning Muslims. They're using that basically to argue that this isn't just a temporary ban for the purposes of reviewing the process but instead a ban motivated by religious discrimination.

He has an uphill battle now to re frame things he wants to do. Even the wall wouldn't upset people so much if they didn't think he wants to build it just because he hates Mexicans. He needs to get out there and start aggressively presenting an alternative narrative but he doesn't seem to be doing that very well, the left has taken control of public opinion right out from under him just like the right did when Obama was in.

Weird how neither side seems to be able to hang on to both political power and public opinion at the same time.

Judges do not get to make calls on national security. That is exclusively the Executive branch's decision to make.

Also those countries were banned because 4 of them do not have functioning governments (and therefore cannot give us any vetting information on ANYONE who comes into the US) and the others refusing to cooperate with vetting.

This is common sense. Read the fucking Constitution.

The opposite. They'll rewrite history and pull whatever statistic they can to show the Trump's winning was as inevitable as those before him. They already did it with Obama who was once just a 1 term senator underdog. By the end of his 8 years, his diversity coalition was seen as unbeatable and the new face of america. Historians will rewrite this as well so they look like they weren't surprised at all.

Yes the President has the right to ban immigrants, and several have done it before, but not on the basis of religious or racial discrimination. That's the issue. The courts are arguing he's put this ban in place to stop Muslims simply because they are Muslim.

He hasn't done enough to distance himself from that "Muslim ban" campaign statement. If he had never said that before he probably wouldn't be having any issues now.

True, not a judge. But Attorney General is the main legal adviser to the government, so AG saying it might be unconstitutional and thus should not be enforced has validity. The neocons that infest the Trump regime and have been given a new lease on life? Why are Trumptards unable to see how stupid the Iran hawks are? Some of you voted for Trump to avoid war with Russia without realizing that Russia is essentially allied with Iran and China. They're not allied because they like each other, but because it's mutually beneficial to oppose US hegemony. If Trump tries to play one of these countries off the other, it's not going to work.

Luckily, Trump has already shown himself to be a complete amateur so he won't accomplish any of his foreign policy goals.

He needs to do more direct communication. I don't really like Trump but this is something I think he does well and absolutely shows up Obama at, Obama was a great speaker and the Democrats wasted it. They should have had him giving speeches as much as possible and delivered as directly as possible to the people. I thought Trump would actually do this considering his love of twitter but hes not. When they don't get out there and speak directly to the people they're practically inviting the media and the other party to take control of the narrative.

It isn't a Muslim ban. It's an immigration freeze on a group of countries that, right now, are strongholds for ISIS or are currently in a state of civil war or damn near civil war to the point where whatever government exists within those states' borders cannot police their populace and prevent potential terrorist exportation from within their own populace.

Muslim ban fits in a soundbyte better, but it was anything but. Take a good hard look at the nations that have the highest Muslim populations compared to those that are on the list.

There are vetting processes already in place. If they're so terrible, make your case why they are bad and then go about fixing them, and do it like Obama and delay the process by implementing additional waiting period. You do not do it by banning people who have already granted visas and green cards, unless you can prove they are a threat and cannot be allowed in.

The ban stopped people getting already approved medical help in the US, exchange program scientists and students from getting the education and research opportunities they had already invested in financially, families being reunited after years of vetting process.

I'm not getting your point. Trump's ban wouldn't have stopped them either.
>>
>>79464942

Because the Second Amendment exists solely as a safeguard to protect against infringement upon the First Amendment.

As soon as you start making progress towards impinging upon the second amendment, you can strip away the first.

Plus, having an armed populace serves as a significant deterrent against any foreign power attempting to occupy American soil. The Japanese were the last nation to even give it a moment's thought and even those crazy fuckers realized it was a really, really bad idea to try and put boots on the ground in the mainland United States.

He used the countries Obama had already flagged m8.

Not a Trump supporter but these "why did he pick those countries?!?!?!" posts are really stupid. We know why.

Sure, I can understand that, but when the countries that are cooperating with us are the ones that also have the people that actually commit acts of terror, how much is that actually worth?

I'm basically asking, if we've got proven terrorists coming from those countries NOT on the list, why aren't they also included in the ban? Regardless of government cooperation. The 9/11 hijackers came from none of those countries on the list, for example.

>>79464997

Yes, but did Obama have them flagged for extended vetting or for a complete travel ban?

You aren't getting the point because you're specifically telling yourself to avoid getting it or you've been conditioned to disregard it.

It's right there, plain english, clear as day.

If you aren't getting it, for one reason or another it's because you don't want to.

The Japanese are the only people in the modern era to have launched a ground invasion against the United States.

The Japanese could've skirted the NW coast of the NA continent down past Canada and landed in Washington or Oregon.

Instead they opted to land their forces in Frozen Asshole, Alaska.

They did so because they knew goddamn well if they tried to invade the mainland US not only would they have had to fight the US Army, Airforce and National Guard, but the Police and any citizen with a firearm and the means and will to reach the front lines.

They would've been driven into the sea in a fucking day.

m8 he means they'd nuke the people then occupy the territory after and you're personal arsenal would do nothing against that.

That said why would someone want to occupy an irradiated wasteland? Probably no country would nuke a territory they wanted to control but you know they could still use regular bombs. The general idea that the average citizens personal arms would do nothing against a modern military invasion is pretty sound I would say. Not saying that means no one should have guns but if you have them because you think you're gonna defend the homeland you're probably a bit deluded.

You can't invade period because the US is a nation with a nuclear arsenal. If their existence is threatened, they will drop those fuckers.

You're also still retarded thinking Cletus and his wannabe M4 will do shit against a conventional invasion.
