I never saw the second one and I didn't understand the first one as a kid. But the last 3 have been great, especially 4.

As a series of five movies I can't think of anything that comes close to having the level of consistency the M:I movies have. But then, few film series ever reach five entries so the field is pretty sparse.

1 - Amazing
2 - Guilty pleasure
3 - Completely forgettable
4 - Great
5 - Good

I don't think most people saw it going anywhere after 3 but Cruise Missile brought it back
