Remake?
>I'm not a robot
I actually watched this the other day. Some of the robots are cool but it's not a good movie on almost any level other than a historical curiosity. I don't think there are enough good pieces to justify trying it again.

i keep imagining Roddy McDowall as Harlan Ellison for some reason, and it ruins the experience.
You gotta love a children's movie where the bad guy literally ends up burning in hell. I remember watching as a child and being so confused.

It has this weird air of dread throughout the entire movie that I really liked.

Does he turn into a robot? It doesn't look like it can fit a person inside.

That zoomout long shot starting at about 1 minute in is legitimately awesome especially for 1979

Supposed to be Rheinhart and Maximilian combined into one to rule in hell. Apparently there was a novel that explained that one of the Palomino's crews father was killed by Rheinhart and stuffed into a robot shell (Max).

Definitely. It's like something out of Dante's Inferno. Apparently if you zoom in on the robed figures they're all wearing Death's head masks.

it has the kind of ending you expect to be referenced in the final episode of Archer.
