10 minute short film. A guy goes on a date with a girl who is a "date for hire", IE you pay them to go out to dinner with you. She falls in love with him. But he is consistently reminding himself that she's just a date for hire and it means nothing. They both leave unhappy.

A man is driven to political zeal over the course of the movie. Newspaper clips of the politcal movement that inspires him are shown during the course of the movie (i.e in a newsstand, on a coffee table, on the TV in the background) as a way of legitimizing his actions as they become gradually more zealous and fanatic.

Its very important that the audience views this character as genuine and likeable. In the end, as the MC fulfills his political goal, PLOT TWIST - the good guys politcally are in reality the bad guys who have used power over the media to manipulate the MC (and the audience). End montage showing the real, unmanipulated renditions of the news clips that have been shown throughout the movie, cross cut with the adverse effects the MCs actions have on his loved ones and the world in general.

I think this could be good if its executed well. If its executed poorly it will be cringe. Point of the movie is to make people more critical of what they see/read in the news.

an amateur film maker spends all his money and works really hard for a really long time on his passion project and it turns out to be just terrible and he realises all his ideas are absolute trash and he blows his brains out.

>not a nerd just no real friends and sticks to himself and gets called a weirdo and the like
>bulk and build up of the movie is making the audience loathe this guy knowing he's going to gun everyone down
>loops back around to the cafeteria scene
>people getting peppered bullets flying girls hugging each other squealing and crying people running and getting dropped
>low camera pan following the shooters feet as he steps over the corpses hunting down the survivors
>steps over the loner kid filled with holes maybe one or two right in his face but still easily recognizable
>credits roll with more gunshots and screams in the background

A group of jaded pothead filmmakers make a super pretentious snuff film as a joke. This gets them kicked out of film school and contacted by a cult who worships the baby from Eraserhead. It's kind of a satirization of the recent trend of slow, methodical, "arthouse" horror films which have been everywhere (ie: It Follows, The Witch, The Babadook, We Are Still Here, etc). They get sucked into the world of this cult and things get progressively more off the wall as it goes on.
