Did Chuck change his name to Sneed? Are they two different people, and Chuck passed his business onto Sneed? Are Chuck and Sneed the two people sitting on the porch?

This scene baffles me. Anton Chekov's "loaded gun principle" of scriptwriting dictates that every element in a well-written script should be absolutely necessary to the narrative, or otherwise excised. But all of this information is conveyed to us about Sneed and his business and none of it ever gets followed up in the plot.

The Simpsons doesn't normally include worldbuilding for the sake of worldbuilding.
