>>
Mel Gibson has never made a bad film in his life. His entire oeuvre is pure kino.
>>
>>79412934
Tell me about....OHIO.
>>
>>79412934
fuck yeah it is.
>>
>>79412934
Just watched Hacksaw ridge and WOW that's what you call kino, had to fight back a few tears near the end such a beautiful movie.
>>
This movie is entertaining as fuck, it's basically a Saturday morning cartoon version of the American Revolution but I always watch it when it's on.

>Comfy Colonial American setting
>Mel Tomahawking redcoats
>Absolute dickhole of a villain
>John Williams' amazing score
>Colorful cast
>Super quotable

"God save King George!"
>>
>>79412934
It's essential Melkino if that's what you mean.
>>
It's pretty boring. Tried too hard for a Braveheart vibe and it just isn't that great.
>>
>>79412934
It's Bravehart but replace the Americans with the Scots.
>>
its good but not great i gave it a 7.5
>>
We had to watch that during history class in high school back in the day. Don't think i'd sit through it normally though, not very good.
>>
>>79413427
This, completely.
>>
>>79412934
wtf I hate anglos now!
>>
>>79413777
And he wins
>>
Best Mel movie
>>
One of the corniest things ever committed to celluloid.

And I love it.

I watched it twice in middle school history, my teacher was a Mel Gibson fan.
>>
>>79412934

Some of the best banter you'll ever see.
>>
>>79412934
Honestly, if you've seen Braveheart you've seen this movie
>>
>>79414092

This. The whole charm of the movie is how ridiculously patriotic it is. It's like that part in Air Force One where the fighter pilot crashes into a missle to save Harrison Ford, but for two hours.

Holy fuck I need to watch this again
>>
Im at 45 minutes lads, its great

>mel and 2 boys kill an entire british platoon

KINO
>>
>>79414117

>Aim small, miss small...

Was cheering the whole time.
>>
that cannonball scene was pretty extreme for my young eyes back then
>>
the attack with his sons is pure fucking kinography
>>
>>79412934

I saw this in theaters with my high school girlfriend. I called every single one of the deaths.

Every. Single. One.

I was being sarcastic at the time, but was blown away by my precog skills.

>Americans have to invent atrocities to justify their treason against the Crown
>>
>>79414555
watching mel go crazy with the tomahawk at the end of that scene still makes me wince
>>
>>79413093
I started watching Get the Gringo not expecting much, I made it about halfway through (started it at 4am) but it was much better than I thought. The Patriot is awesome though, who doesnt love seeing him go crazy with those hatchets in the forest? I could just watch an hour and a half of that.

>being this butthurt that we won and now you are our snaggletoothed sidekick
at least you can get some satisfaction that we ruined it all by electing an illiterate child molester president. still, we had a good run
>>
>>79412934
It would be dumb to expect realism from a movie like this. But, it's funny that the main bad guy in the movie is shown personally committing more atrocities and war crimes than were committed in total by all sides during the war.
>>
>>79415733
>illiterate child molester president

Everything Mel touches is pure kino
>>
>Mel's wife dies so he just marries her sister like she's a spare

No it's a filthy immoral anti-kino film
>>
>>79413208
The whole movie was beautiful and perfect from start to finish. /tv/ goes autistic over a few overthetop scenes but they were based on actual veteran accounts, so they essentially have as much validity as the existence of gas chambers.
>>
It's boring shit. Save the couple of hours and just watch Braveheart if you're set on watching a revisionist Mel Gibson historical drama.
>>
>>79415733
I'm not British matey, I'm Australian. We got our independence without chimping out and later making movie adaptations where we pretend we were the victims of literal Nazi atrocities.
>>
>>79416079
New Zealander of English ancestry here, I wish we weren't cucks, and wish we could be our own independent nations like America is, rather than be cucks for the crown
>>
>>79415886
Braveheart was pretty shit tho
