Like, Ironman was prominent in the Avengers but not nearly as popular as other Marvel Superheroes like Hulk, the Fantastic Four, and the X-Men. Maybe DC could try doing that with Green Lantern or Hawkman, but who else could fill that role? Martian Manhunter is probably a tough sell for a lot of audiences. Aquaman is Aquaman, even with the new edgy movie it might not work. Flash is popular but they'd have to do another reboot. Same goes for Green Arrow. I'd like to see Captain Marvel (fuck Shazam) but they'll need another reboot. Red Tornado, Captain Atom, and Cyborg I'm not sure could carry a franchise.

A few months later the news broke and he was Batman. Everything is just so rushed in the DCEU. They have the mentality that we know about these characters, which we do, but we dont know anything about THESE takes on the characters. In Batman's case we mostly just saw his descent into a ruthless killer and not the usual Batman pre Metropolis incident. Back then fans were thinking of Josh Brolin and Jon Hamm and completely ignored the only actual name that was really being thrown out there by the studio: Affleck. Then when he got cast everybody acted to surprised. "Oh, I didn't see that coming!".

He refused to direct JL and later took the deal to live Batman. Then he refused to direct Batman, WB announced him as the director anyway which pissed him off (which is why he looked like that in the sad affleck video) and he HAD to do it 'cause they probably offered him some crazy shit. He stepped back a few months later and now apparently is regretting pretty hard his decision to take the role in the first place.

I wish we could go to an alternate universe where Ben did not play Batman but did direct Justice League. At least we would have less Snyder.

Just a great career. I will say that, to garner attachment for his heroes, he almost always cuts the movies that limits screentime for villains. Actually I was born in 1995 and I never saw the animated marvel series. Arcades weren't really a thing by the time I was old enough to understand how to play video games.

There was very minimal Iron Man exposure in my age group at the time. Which makes it all the more interesting how Iron Man became so successful.

Iron Man hit at the exact perfect time. It was just right to get all the teens who grew up on the cartoons and was cool enough to appeal to the tweens like you who just saw a cool new movie. Iron Man couldnt have picked a better year to come out.
