By clouding his mind events were set into motion where he was turned into an emotionless Jedi killing machine that was far more effective than leaving him as he was. By taking on Obi-Wan he was erasing Anakin with every blow and in turn with every action Obi-Wan took it was one more Jedi dead by his hands.

As a dark side Anakin, he was vulnerable to his former Jedi ties but as Vader he was unstoppable, wiped the Jedi from the board, and brought balance to the force.

Dooku kicked Obi Wans ass twice, Grevious would have gotten him if his luck with a pisol laying nearby and so would Maul if he finished him quicker. Obi Wan was garbage, all his duels he either lost or won by luck
