How did they construct their mythology without understanding regular language?
Big Guy and CIA at the Plane

Their language was basically memes, all they needed was a picture of the events, splash in some meme phrases from before and they'd have something new.
Still doesn't explain how they'd learn to speak and write though.

What do you think this could mean?
"Darmok and Jalad at Tanagra" means cooperation.
Conflict perhaps, or maybe trap.

Plane, on the air.
Bane and CIA, on the plane.
Bane, his mask removed, his fire started.
CIA on the ground.

They would have had their language first, and then it devolved into memes, and then their the myth of Darmok and Jalad took center.

Imagine a bunch of these aliens kids at school, the teachers shows them three videos, the first a dramatization of Darmok and Jalad fightning with the beast of Tanagra, the second one of two people working together to accomplish something difficult, the third one of a large group of people at a battle defeating an enemy. Finish all videos with the phrase Darmok and Jalad at Tanagra and signalling the students to repeat, and that'd be enough for the kids to understand the meaning of the phrase.

They had a huge silent movie industry at one time and it took off from there

we don't even know that it took center, it was just useful in that situation
but the scene when he explain all of it, drawin shit in the sand and so on, implies that he knows what it all means, not just spewing memes like a retard

"Bane?" = surprise, or doubt
"If I pull this off, will you die?" = mock sympathy
That's all I got, I don't know weather I should use direct quotes or just reference the scene like the Tamarians.

It is possible.
The Rosetta Stone was written in Ancient Egyptian hieroglyphs, Demotic script, and Greek script. The Demotic script was used by the common Egyptians, and the hieroglyphs were only understood by few. These alien jokers might use their similes in most everyday use, but then drop back down to a Demotic to let their underling know that they expect the phased-plasma coil to be aligned within 5 nanometers.

The Flight Plan = the order of things, when used in a statement it could mean anything from who lives, who gets to stay, or that is what they're planning to do.
Calling it in = do the action, execute it, report your findings.
He wasn't alone = exactly what you expect it would mean
