It's not too popular here in asia. I'm pretty sure the only exposure they had to TI was Disney's Treasure Planet, and even then I don't think they knew it was a book adaptation. I remember in high school I was looking for some books to borrow in the historic fiction and I don't think I've come across Treasure Island, just a lot of Les Miserables and maybe one dusty Grapes of Wrath.

Not a fan of how Blackbeard and co got caught, felt like they just wanted to get to the keelhaul (which was quite gruesome) and rushed how they got there, didn't feel earned to me. They could’ve just sunk the ship (at numerous points) and if rackham was so worried about his gf he shouldn't have let her board. he pirates had the numbers, bigger ship and less to lose (worst case was rackham shouldve started a fresh bombardment once blackbeard was caught), it was dumb how they lost.

I liked the death of berringer or w/e his name was more, it made more sense that he ignored blondies advice and was behaving like a vengeance obsessed twat.

The blackbeard/rackham loss felt like a plot contrivance (they needed for the pirates to get a win, and rogers to get a win). So an exciting episode overall, but blackbeards capture was handled poorly (the death itself was fitting, just the way they got there was not). If a second sloop approached and caught rackham and co unawares it would've worked better I reckon.

Teach boarded what he thought was an empty ship after blasting it with a broadside that killed most of the men on deck. It was reckless and he was caught off guard. In the show the decision to board seems to be the plan from the get go and nobody really questions why.

The plan was to draw the pirates in to the square, order a retreat and then fire on them from above. At the end of the scene the British are still fighting so it's not like they were all wiped out, Billy just disrupts the plan and Hands takes advantage of the chaos.
