They were shit movies, like objectively a bit better than the usual marvel borefest but shit all the same

Very generic, filled with nonsensical action and contrived plot points, they contribute nothing original or even inspirational.

They really have the feel they're only made for mass consumation by manchildren and optimisation of revenue for corporate heads.

Suicide squad wasn't nearly as bad as people say (much like the whole DCEU), certainly wasn't a good movie, but it was better than half of the Marvel shit. First Captain America, all the Thor movies, Ant Man and Iron Man 3 were all worse than SS.

Well, the first superman was the superman origin story, which has been done to death.

In SvB, Luther was very generic, I got the feel they were trying to go with a bit of a Dark Knight Joker vibe, but failed miserably, his motivations were vague and unclear, so much so that I can barely remember why he was a villain anyway. Batman's whole reason to hate superman was very barebones and not expanded upon, it just served as a way to get them to fight, not to mention the incredibly stupid "my mother has the same name as your mother, so I'll just ally with you immediately, after hating you for the first 80% of the movie and wanting to kill you just now." Then the ending was just a shitty monster fight.

And I don't even want to go into the Avengers, just a copy-paste "villain with blue laser wants to destroy the world, our good guys stop him."
I guess they tried to experiment a bit with those captain america flicks, but they fell rather flat for me...


I dunno, maybe I'm just not the target audience for a modern,blockbuster superhero film, they really seem pointless to me.

I agree with you about the origin story, I think they had to make one origin story because it seems the rest of the film's carry on after superman was introduced to the world which means less repeated character origins.

I personally loved Lex Luthor, nothing like the character from the comics and it was probably meant to be very similar to TDK's joker, but I didn't mind. I like seeing a character being reimagined rather than them finding an actor who looks like them and acting exactly like the decades of character development has taught us about those characters.

Although I disagree with you, I respect that you actually have reasons behind why you didn't like the movies.

I've only seen Suicide Squad and I didn't like it. The movie was just a mess like someone amateur directed/wrote/cut it. I think I've seen enough from DCEU but I can't make a promise yet.

To me I love Suicide Squad for its characters even though the pacing isn't good. The Batman scenes were some of the only enjoyable bits of BvS.

I did like Man of Steel as it is the most "cinematic" film of the DCEU.

Batman Vs Superman and Suicide Squad suffer from the same problem Amazing Spiderman did: it tried to create a cinematic universe without the backbone for it.

Avengers worked because you had a bunch of movies that built up the hype. People were wondering what was it going to be like when they came together.

But now, we've seen it already. So you can't do a 5 movies before Justice League because people want it NOW, not 5 years from now.

WB blew its wad by putting to many characters in BvS. Instead of

I will just give you one out of the numerous major flaws in BVS to illustrate why its a shit movie.

They spend so much time portraying superman investigating and being angry at Batman. And a great deal of the marketing for the movie was about how the fundamental differences between Batman and Superman would lead to conflict. But this was all bullshit, superman fought batman because Lex blackmailed him. Even before the fucking battle Superman said "Bruce, I was wrong". What the fuck was Superman wrong about.

They tried to tell two plots, one between Batman and Superman and one with Lex's scheme. And the only way to resolve the plot was to completely abandon the ideological battle between Batman and Superman.

The three movies so far have been bluray hits and the audience scores always place them around the 6.5/10, where they belong

The problem with Batman v Superman is that a fight between Batman and Superman is only really good because they're characters we know and love, and because they both have a history together, but neither of these is true in BvS.

The Superman and Batman from BvS aren't the Superman and Batman we're familiar with. They're different takes on the two well-known characters. These versions of these characters have no history with one another. They're not friends who finally find themselves at odds with each other. The audience really doesn't have any reason to care about what should be this big, epic battle. You've got these two characters that we don't know and who don't know each other fighting because one of the characters was blackmailed by another.

It's just disappointing that they rushed and blew their load all because they were too busy trying to beat Marvel. "Oh shit, Marvel is having Captain America and Iron Man fight! We got to outdo that and have Batman and Superman fight!" Except they forgot that Captain America and Ironman have multiple movies behind them, and these versions of them are established and familiar. They've been hinting at a fight between these two for a while, showing them having their differences. They may have failed in the execution to the fight, but they properly built it up, which is more than DC did with BvS.

They're both shit, it's just Marvel churns out movies faster and a few of them end up being alright so moviegoers are more forgiving with them.

DCEU on the other hand never really took off and the few movies they made just sucked, mainly because they're trying to accomplish too much with every single one, which is why they end up becoming unwatchable clusterfucks.

I hated MoS at first but I admit that was mostly because at the time I let people like RLM dictate my opinion; I went to see the movie after watching their review so I was ready to hate it, but one day I decided to actually give the movie a try and I found myself enjoying it. It's not perfect by any means, My only real problems with the movie are the some of the pacing, the palette, a little too much action and Pa Kent's death. The rest is solid I think.
