Hi
Are you tired of capeshit threads, "meme" threads, and porn threads?
If you're looking for Real film discussion come join us at /lbg/
at /lbg/ we have Real film hobbyists, who have Real opinions about films we love (and hate, haha) so if that's your cup of tea, come on down.
And please, watch more films. Don't be an embryo.
won't that just bring the shitposters into the letterboxd threads though? what did you mean by this?

Boring stage play adaptation that never becomes cinematic. Fuck everyone who said this was good, Manny Farber especially.
Is entertainment as good as the comedy
Would it be a good double bill or not

>i hateee hollywood so much my faves? everything by the criterion collection :)

A good portion of the Criterion is Hollywood though.

I mean, everything in backlog is from the library, so I could just renew most of that shit. I've got Nosferatu, Top Gun, and Animal House to watch, too.

I'm planning on watching La La Land tonight, so I can finally credibly hate on it

What's your opinion on this one?

Many nice documentaries on this site, streaming for free, with many in HD. Why not check out The Back-breaking Leaf, an interesting documentary about tobacco harvesting in Ontario. Terence Macartney-Filgate is one of the filmmakers responsible for the 'direct cinema' movement.

This was my first Fassbinder, I went in blind about both the movie and the director and I was expecting a shitty flick but damn I was so wrong. I loved everything, the composition, the dialogue, the colors, the use of music... pure kino.
r8 me pls
>>79359018
Well, I might change my mind, but I hate the hollywood sucks itself off concepts. No, hate it is too strong word. Annoyed is probably better suited.
I loved Whiplash even tho it had nothing to with actual drumming. It was more of a sports movie in it's execution.

DUDE PSYCHEDLICS LMAO
In all seriousness it's good. Like really good. Although, if I would have to choose from Jankovics' works, I would go for Tragedy of Man, because it is one of my fave plays and I rarely get to see good adaptations. And different styles that match eras is just a lovely concept.
>>79359959
You're the most boring person on the planet.
>>79359974
Thanks.
>I would go for Tragedy of Man
I was thinking of getting this on Bluray anyway.
