You can't really put dragon ball in anything but animation considering how silly the source material is.

A Dragon Ball Z film would be shit, even with a big budget

Best thing that could be done is an animated movie with top tier animation, a new art style and a new tone for the new story. An animated movie that stands by itself and doesn't include the usual DB inconsistancies

For all its faults, i felt like Man of Steel was a decent substitute for a live action Dragonball movie. Just swap Superman with Goku and Zod with Vegeta and you are already close to having a recreation of the Saiyan Saga anyway. The fights in that movie did a great job of capturing that DBZ feel

I wouldn't make a live action movie to begin with. It would never work. The only way you could make the fight scenes in live action would be to do it with excessive cgi and it would look ridiculously cartoony and stupid, just like it did in Man of Steel. Of course that wouldn't stop all of the retards from going to see it and giving it glowing praise, though.

During this someone accidently opens a portal from hell and villains start running around. (Mostly doing innane shit) Its up to the heroes to get off their asses, get in shape and clean the streets.
