no, the machines are fucking idiots. turning humans into energy sources doens't work.

no
it would take more energy to keep them alive than they would receive from their bodies

the original reason they enslaved the humans like this was for RAM but back them plebs and normies didnt know much about computers so they rewrote it as LMAO HUMAN BATTERIES
>>
>>79337849
This. Holy fuck it was ruined. They could had just spent 2 mins explaining what Ram was and how the human mind was good at it. And then throw in the radiant energy source to perhaps help power the machines(albeit very low power but still better than nothing)

>>
>>79337760
The human brain barely produces any usable heat at all, the machines that sustain them use up more energy than their bodies could conceivably produce. Those machines were retarded, they could have developed usable nuclear fusion, they could have easily cracked the earth to use geotermal or even went to space to gather solar energy.
The Matrix isn't a good flick because it has some deep and meaningful philosophical undertones, or because it has a well thought out sci-fi foundation. The whole setting is a silly excuse to develop inventive action scenes, creative camerawork and gripping gun fights. That's where the core of the first movie lies, and what was lost in those hilariously shitty sequels. /rant
>>
>>79337849
It wasn't for RAM, dipshit. A brain would make for terrible volatile memory, considering its nasty habit of remembering things. The initial idea was to use them as a cluster of co-processors, which, considering how poorly brains would interface with other brains, is also a retarded idea.
Either way you go with this it's preposterous. Machines would have no use for us once they gained sentience, which is why the skynet scenario makes much more sense. The only angle I'd accept was if they kept us alive for their amusement, like some kind of silly zoo of evolutionary gone-bys.
>>
>>79337849

>>
>>79338055
Or just have Morpheus say "You ever hear how humans only use 10% of their mind? Well the robots use the other 90%". Bam, simple.

But a big plot point was how the sky was "scorched" to stop the machines from getting energy from the Sun, so I gotta wonder if the human battery excuse wasn't deliberate from the start.
>>
>>79338319

The Wachowski Human Beings originally wanted the machines to be using humans as a neural net like in the Alex Jones JRE episode, but the producers thought the idea was to complicated so they made them change it to batteries.

I recall reading somewhere that the original idea was that aliens attacked and almost destroyed humanity, and then the machines hid humanity while they fought them off.

Also involved how they used human brains as computing power to figure out how to defeat them. But I don't remember from here I got this article.

>K obviously they overproduce us, and thats the key point to win any war, so lets fuck their main source of energy, the sun, by fucking our planet too.

There was never a RAM route, they never intended for their brains to be used as RAM. That's something you came up with on your own. The idea that the brains could be used as PROCESSORS came from a Neil Gaiman story based on The Matrix called Goliath, written after the fact. Most of those webcomics are vaguely considered canon.

Or maybe you're just too retarded to realize the shitty world Zion exists in another imperfect level to the Matrix. Hence why Neo can use his powers and Smith can transfer himself to the "real world"
>>
>>79339132
The matrix is sucking out energy from humans. Why does it need the energy? I think the proper way to ask that question is to turn it around: Why does the energy need the matrix? That is to say, since I think that the energy we are talking about is libido, is our pleasure, why does our libido need the virtual matrix of fantasies? Why can't we simply enjoy it directly? Why do we need this virtual supplement?
Our libido needs this virtual element to sustain itself. Our fundamental delusion today is not to believe in the fiction, to take matrix as reality. It's on the contrary - it's not to take it too seriously. Perhaps this virtual identity is a persons true self, because in real life we are unable to enact it due to fears and social constraints. Perhaps that virtual reality is actually more real than reality.
>>
>>79338703
They nuked 01, the city itself, but it didn´t matter cause machines were "superior to the weak flesh bla bla"

Bullshit, detonate a single large nuclear device at 400 km (or 250 miles more or less) over earth and the MP would affect continent sizes, they imply humans launched various nukes, so there is no way in hell the machines could have survived.
>>
Why were the sequels so terrible compared to the first one? What changed?
>>
>>79339336
>The matrix is sucking out energy from humans. Why does it need the energy?
To operate. You're not the sharpest pencil in the case, are you?
>>
>>79340102
The assumed the first one was popular because of all the philosophical bullshit it pushed and not the action scenes and the interesting characters. They also made their main character do the full arc in the first movie, leaving no room for development in the later two. Neil didn't grow or change during those two movies.
>>
>>79338318
I think it would work better if the machines were trying to gain humanity by observing humans but that might be too much like dark city.
>>
>>79340102
The first one was writen and directed by 2 men.
The sequels was writen and directed by a man and a woman.

>>
>>79340218
I think they only became trannies afterwards. It was probably the sequels that caused it.
>>
>>79338318
sci fi super machines could probably work out how to use the human brains as a network of neural nets and some excuse about keeping us conscious like the human brain creates more connections and can invent novel solutions to problems if its allowed to grow naturally.

Also the best explanation is that the humans are fucking retarded and were driving themselves to extinction and the machines have just been trying to be good stewards of the earth and keep humans in the best conditions they possibly can. In fact they tried to give humans a paradise but the brains rejected it. The machines just keep us alive because they are nice
>>
>>79340174
> sharpest pencil in the case

Says the man who doesn't understand cinema beyond the plot.

>To operate.

If that were the only reason, there would be no need to bring it up. With the current state of technology, they could have easily used nuclear reactors. Such a thing would not be relevant to even waste time to explain it.
>>
>>79340242
Apparently, you're the one who didn't.
>>
>>79339132
Capitalism, obviously. The machines feeds us lies to keep us docile while they feed and enrich themselves off of the power of our bodies and minds i.e. our labour power.

They were born women, if that's their gender identity. Nothing changed except their outward appearance more matches how they feel inside now.
>>
>>79340615
I don't think you even understand what Capitalism is. The more correct way to say it would be "The Man", "Elites" or more broadly "Ideology". The parable would work equally well for a socialist, or a totalitarian system - which coincidentally would be the exact same as in the Matrix.

Anyway that is the lowest-hanging fruit tier answer
>>
>>79340525
>Says the man who doesn't understand cinema beyond the plot.
What you're describing is still the plot, though, even if you think you're analyzing the subtext of it. I think you're imploding into your own stupidity, shouldn't have dropped out of high school.
>>
>>79340820
Hehe, what a brainlet. Plot is a series of events which drive the story forward. It's the reality of the story, without the philosophy. And plot is what a pleb like you will focus on, as only natural for someone who has only ever been exposed to genre fiction drivel.
>>
>>79340749
>or more broadly "Ideology"
Ideology can be emancipatory though, not just a tool used to enslave. A dearth of emancipatory ideology is a big cause of the problems in the world, the ideology of the elites goes unchallenged in the guise of pragmatism.

All ideology enslaves. A man cannot escape it without great turmoil, you must force yourself to do it. It is not simply imposed on ourselves, it is our spontaneous relationship to our material, social world, how we perceive it's meaning.
