Reddit horror is wannabe-deep "subtle horror" garbage (often found footage style) like what's on the chart. Some more examples would be The Borderlands or Absentia. True horrorkino is a straightforward, honest monster flick without descending into le ebin quirkyness like with Evil Dead.

Complaining about jump scares is as much as normie tell as "I liked the cinematography". It's just some generic shit normies say when they want to come across as knowledgeable about film but in reality don't know shit.

Jump scares aren't inherently bad, and many of the best horror movies ever made utilize them to great effect. The issue is when they become a crutch and are easy to predict.

its not even about the movie, its just a blog post, what the fuck is wrong with those people

It Follows is a genuinely great movie with a traditionalist message of sex and sexuality, and that does a great job of merging 80s Nightmare on Elm Street esque horror with modern arthouse horror. I don't know or care if reddit likes it, it's a great movie.
