I haven't seen it in years, but I remember it's one of those films that starts out with an intriguing concept and then goes completely off the rails, and not in a good way either.

Like everyone else I watched it for the cool sfx, which were pretty cool, but as a whole it's mediocre

One day I was searching for trippy movies and stumbled upon this. Turns out its not really a trippy journey, but there are a couple of bizarre and somewhat elusive hallucination scenes and the ending is as weird as it gets. Reminded me of the concepts from 2001 at times, but as a whole its just pulp entertainment.
