Its kind of like Tim and Eric, or that World Peace show.
Theres supposed to be some sort of retarded 'in joke' to get, except there are no jokes, so everyone just pretends to like it ironically and ends up creating this odd group of people who call themselves fans of the show, even though literally everyone knows they're full of shit.

Havn't seen the third season but I should mention that as you watch the show it isn't really about comedy, its more of a character study with comedy thrown in to keep it from being too depressing.

The comedy isn't great in Bojack Horseman either imo

There was one good episode in season 1, so I skipped 2 and 3.

The first half of first season isn't very good, as the creators are just testing out their waters with what the show tries, should and could do.

Season 2 was really great, but I feel like 3 was basically a rethread and literally nothing of importance happened.

Season 1: Adult Comedy Cartoon with black humor, furries and visual gags, that suddenly turns to a depressed fever dream around the Princess Caroline episode

Season 2: Now that they forced the audience to take them seriously, they can explore the characters more, makes you hate BoJack in the end (if you didn't yet and was rooting for him to become good against all plot odds), but the whole Secretariat thing was kind of drawn out filler I guess

Season 3: Basically nothing happens, except everyone wallowing in their self-pity. Add a death of the 1.5-dary character for shock value. Literally only interesting thing that happened is "Todd is asexual now i guess".

I really hope they find something new to do in Season 4, because the formula got really stale at Season 3.
