Sopranos General
Paulie has enough of his own problems edition
gary coopa
If odds I cancel my HBO Now account. If evens I keep paying a gorillion dollars a month and rewatch The Sopranos. I've only seen it once and that was recently.
Why is Season 2 so comfy, bros? Especially Funhouse. Personally, I believe television peaked with this very episode.

Cocksucker was way out of line.
> this show ended 10 years ago but we can't stop jerking it to goombahs edition
There is literally no reason janitors couldn't decide to cancel this and you know when GoT wraps they will drop the hammer on that

There's just more to discuss with The Sopranos both on a technical level and on a meme level.
>>79325737

>>79325059
Paulie had his problems so why didn't the "gangsters" just cast themselves out of the dullest franchise in the history of hbo franchises? Seriously each episode following the mob boss and his pals from New Jersey as they fight assorted villains has been indistinguishable from the others. Aside from the gloomy imagery, the series’ only consistency has been its lack of excitement and ineffective use of special effects (, all to make crime unethical, to make goomahs seem sympathetic.)
Perhaps the die was cast when Gandolfini vetoed the idea of Spielberg directing the series; he made sure the series would never be mistaken for a work of art that meant anything to anybody?just ridiculously profitable cross-promotion for Holstens. The Sopranos series might be anti-Christian (or not), but it’s certainly the anti-Goodfellas series in its refusal of wonder, beauty and excitement. No one wants to face that fact. Now, thankfully, they no longer have to.
>a-at least season 1 was good though
"No!" The writing is dreadful; it was terrible. As I watched, I noticed that every time a character went searching in the fridge, the writer wrote instead that the character "gabagooled."
I began marking on the back of an envelope every time that phrase was repeated. I stopped only after I had marked the envelope several dozen times. I was incredulous. Coulter’s mind is so governed by cliches and dead metaphors that he has no other style of writing. Later I read a lavish, loving review of The Sopranos by the same Francis Ford Coppola. He wrote something to the effect of, "If these kids are watching the Sopranos at 11 or 12, then when they get older they will go on to watch Francis Ford Coppola." And he was quite right. He was not being ironic. When you watch "The Sopranos" you are, in fact, trained to watch the Godfather.

>>79329449
Of coursh. Tony loved animals more than humans.
>>79329364
He was a servile moron. Among other things he
>tried to suck up to Tony with the Sun Tzu thing but he's a fucking moron
>told Johnny Sacks everything he wanted to know because he thought Carmine actually gave a fuck about him
>fucked up something as simple as retrieving money a guy actually had prepared for him
>can't even rob an old lady without it going to shit
Paulie was a moron.
>>79329449
For all his posturing about the strong, silent type, Tony lets his temper get the best of him
Thought experiment:
If the gangsters didn't get shot at, would Jackie Jr robbing the card game gotten him inducted into the mafia? When Chrissie hears him talk at 1:26, he seems to be slightly amused rather than mad. Of course that all goes to shit a few moments later.

>>79329813
Jackie was shit, that was the point of the scene.
S1 great
S2 really great
S3 good
S4 going down
S5 getting desperate
S6 pleb tier filler trash

Paulie was a cunt, one of the most heinous characters in the show.
But he was hilarious
>>79326229
Piratebay is fine
you know Quasimodo predicted all this
Artie should have killed tony
Chrissy should have killed paulie
Tony should have killed chrissy (season1)
Bobby should haves killed Janice
Ralphie should have killed pie o my
Richie should have killed uncle jun
Livia should have killed carmela
Bobby jr should have killed aj
Aj should have killed uncle jun
Dr melphie should have killed dr shrink
>>79330415
I love the fact that pretty much everyone in the show was a idiot, seriously is there one sopranos character in the mob that was even half way smart?
>>79330676
Silvio was pretty smart.
And he was only an associate but that jew fuck Hesh was smart too.
>>79326229

The smart ones don't get involved in the mafia since they know they will end up in prison or killed
>>79330676
tony wasn't a dumb person, he wasn't highly intelligent or anything, but definitely not stupid
>>79330818
What does she say besides "boop boop"
>>79330676
Johnny Sack was the only level headed one of the bunch.
>>79330749
Okay Silvo definitely had his moments I'll give you that
>>79330850
Tony wasn't book smart but he was very street smart/instinctual
>>79330911
Uh no he wasn't he was sort of the peace maker in the 1st few seasons but that whole thing with his wife and the ralphie joke wans't what I would call "level headed"
>>79330970
Sack was good as a silvio not a boss.
>>79330859
"Make it here you'll make it PUM PUM Anywhere."

Reddit had a sit down with /tv/ to discuss who gets to ,,,watch it chrissy post.
>>79330970
He was proud of his wife, despite her being incredibly obese. Ralphy should've had his head on a stick for it.
>>79330970
Johnny genuinely loved his wife, when it came to business he was open to listen to and respect group decissions, his pride was his only defect but he never let himself lose control over it.
Think about it, in Season 6 whenhe dies, it's not because of his pride over some stupid business decission, it was simply because of his smoking habit. Then everything goes to hell and beyond after his death.
>>79331348
he died when he cried at his daughters wedding

>>79331402
And had a perfectly good reason to do so since it was humilliating and enraging, anyone in his shoes would either go on a bloody spree right then and there or break down crying, Phil was a complete asshole.
>you will never be a mafia kid trying to make it in hollywood
What's the point in living?
>>79331831
I thought I was daed but I manuged to get the drop on him

Wasn't Phil crying in the hospital after his heart attack? Fucking hypocrite. I bet he was a closet homo too
>>79331865
>drop
I fucked it up
>>79331674
an asshole he may be. but phil is easilly the most based character in the series and carries the latter half of the series
>>79332233
how is phil "based" he's a blood thirsty homophobe
>>79332315
ur on 4 chan talking about how being a homophobe is a bad thing. you probably look like a puerto rican whoar
>>79332233
>Second half
Didn't Phil show up around season five? And the only thing he did that seemed understandable was killing Vito, the mafia has a really hard time when it comes to breaking traditions, so Vito was definitely going to die since he wasn't used to live as a normal person.
best dream sequence?
So did Silvio die in the end?
>>79333048
This one
>>79329449
YOu remember Tony and Ralphs first scene? Tony said NO MORE FIRES
That is why and he killed a beautiful creature
>>79329449
tony is suck a sucker for animals. we know this all the way back from the pilot. i think the horse was what made tony realize how ralphie was fucking nuts
>>79331622
I actually believe him. He's a good strategist and he knows how to manipulate people (even Melfi). He wasn't raised in the right environment.

Seasons 2 finale was incredible. Really the whole series could have ended at that point and I still would have been very satisfied.
The ending segment is my favorite part of the whole show
>>79329813
Perhaps, but since he pissed his pants and they shot at made guys their fate was sealed
>>79329449
SO WHAT, IT WAS A FUCKING ANIMAL
>>79335008
>>79329813
At best, he'd have got inducted, at worst he would have got his ass kicked by Tony but ultimately would've gotten a pass for it. I suspect Chris would have continued bringing him further in, since he showed moxy

Then why didn't he snap Christopher in half when he sat on the dog? I would beat the shit out of a blood relative if they killed an innocent animal minding its own business in such a stupid and avoidable way.
>>79337838
he was obviously really angry about that, and probably would have done so if Paulie didn't get to him first
>>79337733
>>79337745
why instigate this. nigga put spongebob Squarepants on this chart
FUCKING QUEERS
>>79337838
christopher was probably protected by the intervention and rehab pretty much. by the time he came back tony probably forgot it altogether
i hate the industry episodes with chris
the 1st season one with the music niggers and the 2nd with the movie people.
Friendly reminder that the PS2 game is actually pretty okay. It's got all the voices and Paulie even does his famous point whenever you talk to him. One of the first missions has you going to a Gym with Chrissy and beating up meatheads and juice bar employees with pineapples. It's even accurate to the show since Chrissy is shitty at fighting and always gets his ass kicked.
>>79337980
Just wait til he actually gets the movie made in season 6, its the lamest, most dated cringey plotline in the show
