That's something people don't seem to realize, they talk about him being a visually interesting director. Pre-2001 his films were dogshit visually. But Kubrick was great at comedies and action movies. Hence spartacus, paths of glory, the killing, lolita, and dr.strangelove.

Also lolita is way funnier than dr.strangelove. the fact that no one has tried to make another pedo, romantic comedy shows. Also sellers was better in lolita, sellers multiple characters were all the straight men in strangelove (outside of strangelove, who is mainly a cameo)
