First and second acts are pure kino. The third act is cliche upon cliche.

I should also point out how the movie contradicts itself in a major way. In the second act, the lady reveals to the maid that her uncle had been forcing her to read erotica in the presence of an audience of rich pervs; the revelation makes the maid go apeshit over how insulting and obscene that is so she starts destroying the library. The lady joins her in the vandalism.
You know what happens at the end of the movie? They have lesbian sex while two string-connected silver bells are shoved inside each of their vaginas. That way, the scissoring produces soft ringing music (mfw=pic related). The lady learnt that from the erotica she read to the pervs, which she supposedly despised.

The lady despised the erotica she had to read. The maid despised the fact even more. Their whole relationship was centered around escaping the clutches of the men who control them (the librarian uncle with his erotica and the crook fake bourgeois with his plot), yet at the very end they did embrace the very thing they hated.
