Spirit within was like %80scifi and that was, still is, and probably ever will be, much more sci fi than any FF game.

FF7 would say is a lot sci fi, but dunno, doesn't "look scifi", it has a dark almost cyberpunk vibe.

FF 13 is sfi aesthetics on a fantasy world. FF 15 is the same buy with emo angs instead of gurl power.


FF had sci fi elemnts since 1, but it was never as sci fi as the movie.
If the movie presented changed only the ears of the girl to be pointy, and be called "Phantasy Star, Spirit Within", story may have been different.

I love the movie and love most FF though, don't get me wrong.
