This is literally the most infuriating movie i have ever seen and its literally all because of the pants on head retarded final battle.

So the British show up with like 500 fully armed battleships against the pirates who have like 10 and the decide to just duke it out anyway in the open water.
Pretty Stupid right? But before that happens of course we have to have the final showdown between the Black Pearl and the Dutchman and thats stupid in its own right but whatever. So now after that the Pirates have added the Dutchman to its ranks, and even though it was LITERALLY just shown to be just as capable of being damaged as any other ship, and its crew members just as mortal, for some reason the British shit their pants.
So instead of incapacitating this non threat with maybe 10 or 20 of their 500 ships the British send just one, and for some reason the guy doesn't shoot back at all and lets his ship get totally destroyed for no fucking reason.
So big fucking whoop. The British Armada has now lost literally two ships out of 500 and they decide to just fuck off and run away.
Even as a kid seeing that in theatres confused the fuck out of me. WHY THE FUCK DIDNT THEY JUST KILL ALL THOSE FUCKING ANNOYING ASS PIRATES? THEY HAD LITERALLY HUNDREDS OF SHIPS LEFT

Seriously though each episode following the boy wizard and his pals from Hogwarts Academy as they fight assorted villains has been indistinguishable from the others. Aside from the gloomy imagery, the series’ only consistency has been its lack of excitement and ineffective use of special effects, all to make magic unmagical, to make action seem inert.

Perhaps the die was cast when Rowling vetoed the idea of Spielberg directing the series; she made sure the series would never be mistaken for a work of art that meant anything to anybody?just ridiculously profitable cross-promotion for her books. The Harry Potter series might be anti-Christian (or not), but it’s certainly the anti-James Bond series in its refusal of wonder, beauty and excitement. No one wants to face that fact. Now, thankfully, they no longer have to.

Rowling's mind is so governed by cliches and dead metaphors that she has no other style of writing. Later I read a lavish, loving review of Harry Potter by the same Stephen King. He wrote something to the effect of, "If these kids are reading Harry Potter at 11 or 12, then when they get older they will go on to read Stephen King." And he was quite right. He was not being ironic. When you read "Harry Potter" you are, in fact, trained to read Stephen King.
