The first season can be uneven, but IMO is saved by solid world building that is rarely shoved in your face. That and Obergruppenführer Smith being based as fuck.

Season 2 improves on pretty much every aspect of the show. They make some smart decisions and bring characters together in interesting ways, all while building on the world set up in the first season.

I'd say it's worth your time.

Lol, no. Most of the stuff you might think of as stupid comic book shit wasn't in the novel at all, like all the stuff about the Resistance. It's really a more thoughtful, character driven book but they had to add a bunch of pulpy action for the tv audience.
