That bei said I'm finally finishing up seasons 5-7 now. The show is absolutely fucking bonkers, it's really a great time, but the sensibility of the whole thing falls apart episode after episode as you realize exactly how awful and immoral literally every character on the show is. Jax in particular proves time and time again that no matter how much he writes philosophy in his little diary and acts like he's a hero because he's a '''father''' and a '''husband''', is total lip service as he continuously neglects everything in his life and does everything he can to bring danger to his family and people.

The fact that everybody gets completely killed all the time really goes the extra mile to show that these people are worthless failures who lack any virtue whatsoever.

I watched this religiously when it was on but I have no interest in watching it ever again. It was a guilty pleasure show. I wish we could have a show like this that is well written. I just want to see guns, drugs, sex, and violence over good music. But SOA was only like 10% of that with 90% melodramatic bullshit. Weeds is a more exciting show than SOA is half the time.

This show really does do a fantastic job of making characters out of a lack of character. Nearly everybody in the show is motivated by something they don't actually believe in and that they don't hold dear at all, and provide them no real value.

Why did Clay want to get into guns so badly? It's not like the club is very rich now or anything, sure there's always money around but they pretty much have to sink it all back into the business,

What in the ever-loving fuck is Unser doing any of this for? He's just some infinitely corrupt ex-police chief who does absolutely everything in his power to make sure crime keeps happening, while not being approving of it but genuinely feeling no guilt.

How can Roosevelt claim he has anyone's best interest in mind when he literally let's Juice go free in season 4 because 'I want you to go back to doing crime and me trying to stop you'?

And Tara is codependent to the grave with Jax and this irredeemable disgusting life of death and crime just because Jax shot her stalker?

How come every character doesn't kill themselves every episode?

In any other show these would be problems, but it's actually what makes Sons of Anarchy shine. These people are fucking insane.
